Netlight Consulting
August 2020 – present
Since August 2020 I am working as IT Consultant and Full-Stack Developer at Netlight Consulting in Hamburg. We operate in a variety of domains and offer a broad set of services to our clients, always trying to create the best possible product in a joined effort.
Currently I am working as a Back-End Developer in the marketing department of a popular European e-commerce company. We are building a new internal system, which processes and hosts information used throughout the company.
UniTransferKlinik Lübeck
August 2018 – Juli 2020
During my time as Project Manager at the UniTransferKlinik Lübeck GmbH, I was responsible for operative and administrative tasks within the Mittelstand 4.0 Kompetenzzentrum Kiel, a competence center for digitalisation funded by the Bundesministerium für Wirtschaft and Infrastruktur (the german federal ministry for economy and infrastructure).
We were consulting small to medium sized companies covering a variety of different topics, all related to digitalization. I was the project manager responsible for the domain of medical engineering, where we focused on a number of different topics including:
- IT Integration
- Information Security
- Usability
- Norms & Standards
- Remote Service
As Project Manager I was responsible for initiating and maintaining contact to our clients and partners and monitoring our KPIs. I also hosted multiple seminars for industry professionals and was part of smaller projects we performed dirctly with our clients. For example we created the design and PoC for a smart EMF therapy device, which can be integrated into an orthosis and controlled by the smartphone of a patient together with the Sachtleben GmbH (more information).

- Administrative tasks
Between October 2017 and July 2018 I worked on the MoVE research project, which examined how medical devices connected through the new IEEE 11073-SDC standard family can be tested and how existing approval and certification processes for medical devices need to be adapted to account for open communication standards. During this time I was assigned tasks in different aspects of the research project:
- Project Management
- Requirements Analysis
- Architecture Design
- Implementation of multiple tools for testing and simulating Medical Devices
Education
After completing High School I started studying media informatics at the Universität zu Lübeck, because the study program seemed to match my interests and skills.
Master of Science (M.Sc.), Media Informatics
2018 – 2020 · Universität zu Lübeck
During my first semesters at the university, I was unsure if enrolling in the master program was the right choice for me as I often felt, that the things that I learned had very little practical use. Now thinking back, I am very glad, that I did. Right from the start the master program had a more practical approach to teaching, as we had a big team project every semester. During the additional four semesters I learned a lot about team work in software projects and to quickly master new technologies to fulfill assignments outside of my comfort zone.
In my master thesis I examined possible ways to operate inter-organizational logistical workflows on a shared software platform. The result of this thesis is the architecture design and a prototype of such software platform.
The thesis is written in English and can be downloaded here.
Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.), Media Informatics
2014 – 2018 · Universität zu Lübeck
The study program Media Informatics had just started at the time, that I enrolled at the University of Lübeck. In the beginning we often fealt like lab rats in some experiment at the University, which luckily changed during the semesters. First, I did not have much interest in the more theoretical lectures in the program and focused more on topics, that I was already familiar with. This changed when I engaged in a number of personal projects, which ultimately lead to some assignments as a Freelancer and my job at the Institute of Software Engineering and Programming Languages.
My bachelor thesis was about designing and developing a web application, which would assist employees at our University in bureaucratic tasks like applying for holiday or receiving a refund for a business trip.
